Bleaching Agent - Twwpk

from Contour Grip by komisch

    Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

Fresh from his releases on Mira, Bleaching Agent makes his Komisch debut with an unforgettable three-tracker.

The A side, ‘Compere’ sees the shadowy producer stray into a space inhabited by Shed’s Equalized project, but Bleaching Agent’s blasts of icy chords and insistent percussion, coupled with its wiry, skipping rhythm make for a more forceful, austere result.

On the flip, ‘Jain’ has shades of classic Beltram as a ferocious low end writhes meancingly over waves of jittery hi hats and nervous percussive ticks. Despite the presence of these complex, morphing elements, in the end the searing bass dominates.

Finally, ‘Twwpk’ sees Bleaching Agent pare back his sound; spooky stabs and cheesewire percussion build and drop as metal drums bang and crash, like a robot crushing a job lot of beer cans in a scrapyard.

It completes a diverse and adventurous record – watch each track clean up on the dance floor!

    Selected DJ Feedback

    Mosca (Radio 1)
“Twwpk is ridiculous! Bleaching Agent has such a distinctive sound and style. What I love about it is on paper this should be pure nails, but there's funk and groove and flexibility in there, Twwpk could almost be golden era grimey UK funky, and I mean that in the best way possible, that was a time where the rulebook was super slim. Compere has a great vibe as well, rigid kinda angular programming that sounds fluid after a while. Full support and expect this to get some Radio 1 airtime.”
    Dave Clarke (White Noise)
“Jain is the one for me here.”
    Shifted (Avian)
“Nice 12" for sure.. I'm obviously a Bleaching Agent fan.”
